Level of English in Chile

In general, the level of english in Chile is very low. Many children don't know the language because in the school they learn only the basic of english. This is a problem, because when they have to speak, to read or to write in english in the future they don't know how to do.

I think that the education in Chile is not really focused on learning this language of the same way in all the country. Private schools generally have a high level of english, while the public schools have a medium or low level of english. I don't know if it is a different way of teach or if they have intensive class of english, but is evident the difference of level.

In my personal case, I have a awful level of english in the school. I had to take a class of english when I finished the school and there learn more than school. I think that this wouldn't be necessary to learn english because I feel that the 10 years of english in the school is a lost time, and wouldn't be just like that.

Some people don't have the possibility of learn english if isn't in the school and it is very complicated in the university or the job, also is very unfair that some people can't understand the language because the level of english in the school was low.

I think that the level of english is something very important in our days and the education in Chile would be really focused in this.

Today the women have been organized to march and fight for our rights of live in peace and reveal the outrage against women. Many rapes, murders, and other abuses of men to woman show that in these times we are considered the weakling gender and for some men we have not value. 

This campaign have a result of many opinions, very much to favor, and others that don't take the value of the organization of women. I think that they don't want to believe in this problem and accept that is a REAL gender problem, not only of violence, because all of us know that the violence is bad in the women, men, children and animals, but in this case, we are fighting for finish with all the rapes, murders, harassment against women around the world.

It is sad that some people don't support this movement, because I think that they probably never have lived a situation of this type, but nobody says that they are saved. For this reason all of us must be support and teach to society that the feminism look for the equality in women and men and to finish the violence. 

An artist I admire

Beethoven is an artist I admire. He lived so many years ago, but his legacy lives until our days.

Ludwig van Beethoven born on december 16th, 1770 in Bonn (Germany) and died on march 26th, 1827 in Viena (Austria). Is considered one of the most important composers of the history of music.

He starts on music when he was a child, he was 7 when he gave his first concert. His work is very large, but the symphonies give him famous international, and after of this, some other works will be known for all. Some of most famous works are 5th and 9th symphony, Für Elise or Moonlight, among others.

I admire Beethoven because several of his works he composed being deaf, and it is something very difficult for a musician. However, was not an impediment to create one of the most important work in history.

Today I will talk about my favorite website. Well, one of websites that I often use is Netflix, because I like watch series and movies, although I don't like so much be in front of computer for a long time and I don't use frequently, for this reason, I like Netflix since last year (when I created account), because I don't visit too much websites, so I have an app in my phone of Netflix and I can watch there.
Other website that I like is Youtube, because I can watch and listen all my favorite music and videos.
Like I said, I don't like be in front of computer for a long time, but this two websites are my favorites.

My expectations for this semester :)

Hi! This semester I have two languages extra in my program. I want to learn more english and then can communicate with other people. I have a french class too, and I’m very happy for this, because is a language that I don’t know nothing and I hope to can read, write and speak french soon.

In this new academic period, I don’t have other extracurriculars activities, but I like so much the classes of history of art and I hope to enjoy those classes.

This semester I wish to learn carve on wood and to do figures or things.

My name is Francisca Lillo Arévalo. I'm 20 years old and I'm a student of Teoría e Historia del Arte at the Universidad de Chile.

I live in Cartagena, a place in the chilean's coast and I really love the beach: to swim, to walk, to see, and to talk there.
I like listen to different types of music, read books and watch movies and series. I like walk and to know new places. I love old things, like antiques or ruins.
My favorite season is autumn, because I like the fall of the leaf, and I like the summer too, because the days are hot. I love the flowers in the spring, but I hate the allergy in this season.
I love food but I don't know cooking so much, I really like my grandma's food. I also like to eat candies and cookies.
I have two dogs and I love they so much. One of them is an adult and is black, and the other is a puppy and is white, but curiously is bigger than the adult.

These are some things that I like and enjoy.
